When we are working outside in the cold temperatures and diving in 28° F water, your body burns a lot of calories just to stay warm. It has been hypothesized that the average person burns 6000 calories a day down here in the Antarctic and only 2000 in their daily routine at home in warmer climates. Chocolate is packed with calories (each candy bar contains approximately 400 calories) that our bodies can easily burn to stay warm. It is recommended that each person eat 2 chocolate bars a day while working outside down here. And not only does hot chocolate refuel the energy in our bodies, it also warms us from the inside out after a long cold dive.
The chocolate monster reccommends that each person eats 2 candy bars a day, yumm!
