Another day of running around in McMurdo, getting ourselves prepared for work to begin. The day began with getting our computers connected to the outside world. We also had a course in how to start (and theoretically repair) snowmobiles, and an introduction to using the radio communications system in the McMurdo area. Still getting used to the fact that when you step out the door here and run between buildings you have to prepare for sub-zero temperatures and winds that often gust over 40 mph. Diving and getting out to see some real Antarctic sights, still seems a long way away, but at least we have an incredible view outside of our lab window of Mt. Discovery Volcano across McMurdo Sound.
